Fun Memories

I have so many memories at my school! I have so many fun times throughout this school year, but if I had to narrow it down, I would say my first memory that I thought was surprising was the unexpected dance battle. It was a normal day at break, when I then saw a huge crowd! Me and my friends went over not knowing what to expect but as soon as Ms. Swain tells us all to kneel down so we can see people doing the worm, and all types of dances. I am still not sure how the teachers set it up but it was definitely a fun memory to remember.

The second memory I remember was scorekeeping for the boys volleyball tournament. Me and Aila spent our time inside the gym scorekeeping with tons of snacks! The referees were super chill so we were able to just score keep and play volleyball during our breaks. Me, Aila, Allie, and Hannah would spend our breaks at snack bars as well, or even meeting people from other schools. Overall, the event was really fun and I’m glad I was able to spend most of the day scorekeeping, and hanging out with my friends.

The final memory I remember was something I’d never forget. During our basketball city finals tournament, we were playing our final team. Well, we thought they were our final team but we did end up playing someone after. We were playing against one of the other schools, and we were on our way to losing our first game. We so far haven’t lost a game and we were losing by two points. Then all of a sudden Margaret scores a three pointer at the buzzer Andy e end up winning the game. We come back from the city finals undefeated. Once I finished this blog, I realized how much fun school could be. Sure it can be hard sometimes but you should just spend your time in the best way because soon it will be gone.

Yearbook – 20% Project Week 6

This week, I finally was able to wrap things up. What I accomplished this week was I started my script and my writing for Miss Moffat’s class. I am also ready to pick out the photos I’m going to print. Once I print my photos and print my finished paragraph, I can finally stick them onto my tri-fold and start adding captions. One of the struggles I had this week was figuring how many photos I had, when I checked last time I was positive I didn’t need any more pictures and was ready to print. But now, I am not sure if I have enough. Thankfully, I was able to make some adjustments since miss Moffat told me I can use the photos that she’s taken out from the school year. These photo’s include from the very beginning on the year and even events from the Knight of the Museum, and more. Since this is my last week, the only days I need to worry about is Wednesday, the day I’m presenting in front of the adults and students, and Friday where I am doing my actual presentation in front of my class. I will be finishing my tri-fold and my scripts and writing today, so I am ready for Wednesday and Friday.

Differences

This image has a very strong message. It shows how much something can mean from one child to another. The kid on the left seems disappointed with all the toys he has. While the kid on the right is happy with his own homemade car. These kids are very different. They appreciate different things in life and it shows how much it can affect you. If you live your life being mad at all the things you don’t have, it can be a lot different than appreciating everything you do have. We can all be jealous of each other, but instead we should live our lives being thankful for everything in our life. Because we all have things that others don’t have, and all we can do is to be grateful.

Yearbook – 20% Project Week 5

This week, I made a lot of progress. I accomplished my goal of getting started on my tri-fold. Though the tri-folds weren’t ready yet, Miss Moffat was able to provide me a spare one. I was able to see how many photos I need, how many interviews and how much writing I need. I used post-it’s to plan on my trifold as shown. I also looked through Miss Moffat’s photos she took throughout the year that I can also use. Since nothing went wrong, I didn’t have to make any adjustments. I also didn’t have any struggles this week. I was able to get through my title and plan where I will put everything. I also need to work on my captions and I can add some stickers or decorative tape to add more of a scrape book feeling to my trifold. Next week, I will get started on the writing and take more photos and interviews. Soon, I will get ready for my presentation as well. See you next week!

Virtual Yearbook – 20% Project Week 4

This Friday, I was able to get a lot done. I accomplished to get a lot of photos, and interviews. I am supposed to get my tri-fold next week, so I made a plan of what I will do once I get my tri-fold. This will help me figure out my project faster so I can spend more time working. I will see how many photos will fit on my tri-fold, how much writing is needed, and anything else I can add. My struggles this week was being a little behind on my project. I noticed I’m getting a lot less work done then before, but I will try to fix this problem by working a lot next week even if that means I need to work from home. I also need to figure out how I will print my photos. I plan on presenting my photos on a tri-fold so I may need to go somewhere specific to print my photos so they have the best quality. Next week, I will plan to get my tri-fold and start working on my presentation. See you next week!

RAD READING – May

This month, I read the book, We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han. This book is the third book of the series, The Summer I Turned Pretty and shows her different relationships with both of the brothers, Jeremiah Fisher and Conrad Fisher. Throughout the book both of the brothers express their love to Belly, the main character. Jeremiah gains the courage to propose to her, but Conrad and Belly still had feelings for each other. Belly had known Jeremiah and Conrad for years. Even though Belly loved both of the brothers, she had no choice but to break one of their hearts.

I love this book because it shows how different relationships could be. Even though Belly and Jeremiah were getting married, the book still shows their arguments sharing how their relationship wasn’t perfect. Even Belly’s mom didn’t support the choice of her getting married and refused to move on with the wedding. This shows that books don’t always have supportive characters and how each character has a different personality.

My favorite character throughout the book is Taylor Jewels, Belly’s best friend. Taylor was always there for Belly throughout the book and was there to support her no matter what decision she made. A quote to explain their relationship is on page 70 which states, “Taylor Jewel, my oldest friend in the world. We’d been through some times together, and I knew now it was pure grace that we’d managed to come out the other side.” This quote explains that no matter what they’ve been through together, Taylor would always be there for Belly. Throughout the tough moments they went through the series, they always made up in the end.

My favorite quote is when Conrad realized how he was too late. On page 247 the book shows, “If I had told her a year ago, a month ago, even a week ago, would things be different now? It was the day before her wedding. In twenty-four hours, she would be married to my brother. Why did I wait so long?” This quote shows something we can all relate to. Waiting too long. Whether it’s not being prepared enough for a test, or forgetting to buy your friend something for their birthday, you shouldn’t wait so long until it will be too late. Conrad confessed his feeling to Belly twenty-four hours before she would get married to his brother. What would’ve happened if he told her earlier, would she have changed her mind about the marriage? There are so many possibilities to what could’ve happened, but now, it’s too late.

Favorite Room

Each room in my house each has so many good memories and experiences. But, if I had to choose one I would pick my bedroom. After school, I want to just lay in my bed after my long day. A reason why my bedroom is my favorite room is because I can just rest, whether I’m taking a nap or simply just chilling in my bed, my bedroom is something I always look forward to after school or sports. Another reason I love my bedroom is because I can do many activities. I can read, draw, homework, or even just watching tv. One of my most relaxing moments is just listening to music while I’m drawing, or reading the last pages of my book in my bed. My last reason I would say my bedroom is the best part of my house is because I can get my own privacy. Whether my brothers annoying me, or I’m stressed out about a test I can just go into my room. I love having a place where I can take care of. Though my room is still messy, I just love those days I’m in the mood to tidy up. There are so many places in my house I love, but I will always look forward to my room on any day.

Virtual Yearbook – 20% Project, Week 3

Hello, my name is Kendra. This week, I worked on my template, took more photos, and interviewed more people. I completed my goal of taking at least three photos a week. With this goal I would have more than enough information to finish my project. The struggles I had this week was my template. It was very confusing to form, but I will continue on it next week. Once I get my tri-fold, I will use my template so I know where to put my photos and writing. For my presentation, I will be presenting my yearbook on my tri-fold. Next week, I am going to take more photos, get more interviews, and start my writing piece of the project. I am going to write around one or two paragraphs about the class and its atmosphere. This way, parents can see how our class looks like daily. See you next week!

Virtual Yearbook – 20% Project, Week 2

This week I was able to accomplish a lot. I was able to get many interviews and photos of people. I took photos of people working on their project as I was doing mine. I got many interviews from students about the class and their other classmates. The only struggle I had this week was not knowing how many photos I should take. If I don’t keep track, I could possibly not have enough and it would be too late to take any more. I decided to solve this problem by creating a goal for the amount of photos I should take. So far I haven’t been struggling a lot. The other things I need to work on more is the template, and then I would continue taking photos. Even the days where I am just working on my template I want to get at least three photos a week. Next week, I would work on my template more so I have a better understanding of how many photos I need. I will also be taking some pictures. See you next week!

Dinner Party

If I could invite three people to dinner, I would choose people that can help me with my strengths. I would also choose people who would be able to get along with and have fun. The first person I would choose to invite over would be Batman. Batman is known for bringing good into the world. If I invited Batman I would be able to learn his skills into making the world a better place.

The second person I would choose would be Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock. One of the many talents The Rock does would be acting. The Rock would teach me not only acting since he did play in some movies, but also his well known trick. The Rock is famous for lifting his one eyebrow up to what makes people laugh every time. I know it would be hilarious to invite him over for dinner.

The final person I would choose to invite would be Miloš Dimitrijevic. Miloš is one of my distant cousins and it would be fun to invite to actually meet one of my many cousins in Serbia. Miloš is a professional soccer player in Serbia. Soccer is a big deal for Serbians so I could learn how much it really means in Serbia. If I also invited one of my Serbian cousins, they would bring in the best food such as cevapi or pita. I could also learn a few soccer skills from Miloš in which would be helpful to beat my brother in a match.
